This 3rd generation Innoo Tech is an oil diffuser with 7 changing color LED lights, and it can also be used as a humidifier or night lamp alone. This product sufficiently meets the functional requirement, as it does a good job in gently emitting mist for a decent amount of working time, while making very minimal noise. It has a high factor of safety, as it will automatically shut down when it detects there is no more water; so users won't have to get up in the middle of the night and turn it off because they worry something would happen. The entire body of the device is plain white (with just enough transparency to allow for a soft glow of lights), which according to the white effect, evokes sense of goodness, security, and peacefulness. In addition, the roundness and curviness of the product's contour is predisposed to people's preference, as they are perceived to be more friendly, secure as opposed to sharp, angular forms. These address important aspects of physical requirement in which the product is generally used; in this case, an oil diffuser would be normally used in a quiet, relaxing context (I turn it on before sleep) instead of a noisy, active one. On the contrary, if it has fancy colors/textures/graphics on it, or runs not as quietly, it would probably end up being distracting and disturbing and thus not meeting the environmental requirements.

A diffuser would work just fine without colorful lights, but building off a good performance in functionality, this aesthetic side of it really adds to the overall appeal, acknowledging the principle of form follows function. The LED lamp aspect is very beautiful. The light is not bright or sharp but glows through the lid, emitting a very soft and warm aura. Users can pick one single color or let them fluctuate, and simply watching the colors constantly passing by is a delightful thing (at least for me).
Why do I like it so much? Probably because it tackles my emotion by conveying affect. On the visceral level of the Emotional Design Model, I am immediately drawn to it because it looks nice and simple. Subsequently I found it high in usability as well as user experience, so I kept using it. My reaction occurs at the behavioral level. And eventually when I reflect on my lifestyle, it boils down to the meaning and value conveyed by this product. I am a easily stressful person, and often feel worn out after a busy day. So essentially I might just need something to relieve my stress and elevates my mood. I think what I enjoy the most is not simply the physical attributes such as the lights but really the soothing and relaxing effects. The sense of mental well-being is what I need and value.
I will definitely recommend this product whether to diffuse oils or to humidify your room or simply a night lamp. It is simple, elegant, high in functionality, and most importantly, really pleasant to use! Plus it's at a great price (around $18.00). Go get one and embrace yourself in aroma!
